In 1933, eager motorists parked their automobiles on the grounds of Park-In Theaters, the first-ever drive-in movie theater, located on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey. Today, only 348 drive in theaters exist. At their peak in the 1950's through the 1960's, over 4000 drive in theaters were in operation around the United States.
